- Crochet three lots of double crochets in each chain space
- For corner: 3 trebles, 3 chains, 3 trebles in the next chain space

Crochet Boho Headband
Our step-by-step guide and tutorial will help you make the best boho headband you've ever made in no time.
Materials:
- Medium weight #4 yarn (approx. 1.5 ounces)
- Crochet hook size H (5.0 mm)
- Yarn needle (straight and bent recommended)
- Scissors
- Wooden beads (12 beads, ¼ inch size preferred)
Instructions:
Note: Working in back loops only (BLO) creates a ridge effect.
Starting Edge:
- Row 1: Chain 4, single crochet (SC) in the second chain from hook and the next 2 chains (3 SC total). Chain 1, turn.
- Row 2: SC BLO in each SC across (3 SC). Chain 1, turn.
- For Row 3: Increase by 2 SC. SC BLO in both the first and last SC. (5 SC). Chain 1, turn.
- Row 4: SC BLO in each SC across (5 SC). Chain 1, turn.
- Continue this increasing pattern every other row until you have 13 SC across. Follow a sequence of increasing row, then a straight row.
Bead Addition and Headband Body:
- Thread all the beads onto the yarn before you begin the body.
- Row 13: Transition to 4 double crochet (DC), chain 1, skip 2 SC, double crochet cluster (DC cluster) in the next, chain 1, DC cluster again in the same space, chain 1, skip 2 SC, end with 4 DC. Chain 3, turn.
- Next Rows: Pull a bead to the front before the cluster every other row while establishing a pattern of DC and DC clusters as per previous row without beads. The chain 3 at the beginning of each row counts as the first DC.
- Continue this pattern, alternating between a beaded row and a regular row for the length desired. Ensure to measure the headband on the recipient for the perfect fit.
Decreasing for Tapering Edge:
- Once the body reaches the required length, switch to SC decrease rows to taper the other end. Chain 1, turn at the end of your last DC row.
- Proceed with SC in each stitch (13 SC), work BLO, then decrease as you did in the beginning but reversed - decreasing instead of increasing.
- Work decrease rows to go from 13 SC down to 3 SC, decreasing at the beginning and end of alternate rows.
Finishing:
- When the tapered edge mirrors the starting edge, cut the yarn, making sure to leave a long enough tail to stitch the headband ends together.
- With the right sides facing each other (inside out), use a slip stitch or a sewing method to join both ends of the headband.
- Weave in any remaining loose ends.
Final Notes:
- The ridged pattern created by working in the BLO gives the headband texture.
- Beads are added by pushing them up against the clusters as you crochet, ensuring they're on the correct side of the work.
- The headband is designed to be stretchy and fit a 22-24 inch head. Adjust by changing the length of the straight body part if a smaller or larger size is needed.
- Remember to sew the headband ends with care to ensure durability and comfort when worn.
This headband is a perfect accessory for adding a boho chic touch to any outfit.
